Digital X-Rays

X-rays are used with low levels of radiation to capture images of the interior of your teeth and gums. X-rays are essential for detecting tooth decay, bone loss, cysts, abscesses, tumors, and any hidden dental abnormalities or misalignments not visible with an intraoral examination.

There are several types of dental X-rays, which record slightly different views of your mouth. The most common are:

Panoramic. This type of X-ray uses a very small dose of radiation to capture the entire mouth in one image.

Periapical. This technique focuses on two complete teeth from root to crown.

Bite-wings. This technique is mostly used for proper diagnosis of interproximal decay of posterior teeth
